Hi! I completed the power plan for a certain project but realized afterward that the receptacles aren't visible in most views. I checked the properties and saw that it was placed abnormally far from its host (see screenshot). When I changed it to a normal offset, not only didn't it show up, but it disappeared from the views that it was visible in before... I am pretty new to Revit, so I have no idea what the issue is. I'd appreciate anyone who could help. Thanks!

It looks like the receptacles have lost their Host. (Host= Orphaned in Properties)
See if you can select one of them, and then use Pick New Host, and select Level 1.
Then you can select one, right click, select all instances in view and re-host to Level 1.
It's placed on a Vertical Face. You have 3 Placement Options when you place an Instance.
Also, check the Visibility Settings for Front/Back in the Family.
I want it to be placed on the wall - which is a vertical face as well, but I it doesn't pick it up. I get an error msg when I try picking a new face.
Is the Host Face actually in the View, or is it coming from an Underlay?
It's not an underlay. It is actually in the view.
Just one thing that may have caused this is that I first placed the receptacles on an underlay and copied it onto the actual host face when I realized it was causing issues. But even if this might be the problem then I should be able to pick a new host face easily, no?
You mean this tool?
I tried it but it doesn't work, it doesn't pick up the wall as an appropriate host.
When you use that tool, is it followed up by Placement Options? Is the correct Placement Option selected?
When I select the object and click 'Pick new host', I get the following:
I could select where I want to place it-Vertical face, Face, or Work Plane. I select Vertical face and I place it on the wall, and then I get the following error msg.
Is there anything I'm missing??
I'd love that, but is it going to be public? Because this is an actual project...
I didn't mean the whole project. That's overkill. Just Group the pertinent elements together, save that Group out of the Project to a separate RVT, and then post that RVT here.
Okay, I got the "whole" Project open before me. Where do I go from here. So far, Pick New Host seems to be working fine with the few outlets I tried it on. No errors being throw on my end.
Sorry I thought you need the whole project in order to solve it properly. Attached is the relevant floor plan I had the issue in the kitchen (upper left side), particularly with the receptacles that have the "43" tag. Thanks so much
No need to be sorry. I posted my comments about Grouping and posting a portion of your Project before you posted your entire Project - not in response to it.
Anyways, @cbcarch is spot on. You have a bunch of Orphaned Elements. What happened to the Link? You said in your original post that you "completed the power plan". You probably did - and it was probably beautiful. But then the Link was deleted and that, unfortunately, undid all your hard work and set you back to square one. Still, I do not understand how an outlet could be offset 160+ feet from its host. That's a mind-boggler. I don't know what else to tell you, except that have no issues/errors hosting elements using Pick New Host - nor with element visibility in Plan or Elevation Views. Wish I could be more helpful. Good luck.
Guess if I'm continuing to have issues using the Pick new host tool I'll have to redo the Power Plan on top of the Current one and then delete the older version... Thanks so much, @barthbradley for your help...
