So I have built several compound walls to represent the different density of masonry materials the walls are constructed of. Sometimes I need to create a beam pocket in just the outer most layer of material, but when I use a reveal to cut this beam pocket out it subtracts volume from ALL layers of material proportionately not just the layer the reveal is cutting. This is throwing off the material take off schedules.
So if my wall is made of 3 layers of material 2 layers of material X and one layer of material Z and I create a reveal the only subtracts from material Z the material take off schedules subtract the volume of the reveal but they subtract 2/3 of that volume from material X even though the reveal is not cutting material X at all.
Is there any way to fix this? I am currently working in revit 2017 is it fixed in later versions?
Thanks in advance

That does seem to have done it. Not being able to put the wall length in the same schedule means that I will have to have a separate schedule for the weight / linear feet but that is not the end of the world.
Thanks alot
You could try using a Generic Model-Void to cut the beam pockets instead of a Reveal--and control he depth of the cut to the proper depth to avoid cutting the other compound layers/materials.
