Dear all,
I just wanted to show a concept that I came up with to do any multi-category schedule. It involves using Dynamo and it has nothing to do with excel or usual Revit schedules. So, tell me what you think.
These are the steps that I use:
1: Create global parameters in correspondence to all parameters that should be included in the multi-category schedule.
2: Using Dynamo, extract all parameter values of any category (system families, components...)
3: Using Dynamo, assign new values to global parameters. The new values are driven by the extracted ones.
4: Create a generic annotation family. Constrain it with global parameters. Using formulas, do the math and create all calculated values in this family.
5: Put the generic annotation family on a sheet as it was a new multi-category schedule.
Example:
Extract data from an area plan and update the corresponding global parameter
Extract data from project information and update the corresponding global parameter
Extract data from a line based family and update the corresponding global parameter
Create calculated values in a generic annotation family
Constrain the generic annotation family with global parameters
