I detached a central file from a current project and when I try to save it in another location I get the following message: "Unable to write to PROJECTXX, it is read only or opened by someone else". I know that nobody else is in the file. How do I fix this?
Hi chad,
are you sure that you have access to the new location that you need to save on?
another word,
do you have the right permissions to the folder you need to save in?
To check this , select the folder , and then use the right mouse to click on the folder. A dialog will appear - select properties, and then click the security tab.
You may need to let IT at your office to adjust the properties for you.
Also for checking ,,try to change the path ,,,and try to save it even on your desktop ,,,to be sure from the access rights.
