Raster Images Covering up model

Anonymous
Not applicable

Good afternoon. I'm using REVIT 2015 and using a very old architectural drawing (TIF file) to build a new model from. However, when I insert the file it covers up any walls etc that I put in. Is there some way to set the transparency of the image? (I've tried moving it the back and that doesn't seem to do anything).

Michael,

The answer is change the draw layer on Properties.

Rodrigo,

Thanks for the response. Currently the Draw Layer is set to "background" but it's still hiding the walls

Cheers

if Rodrigo's answer doesn't help, then try to increase the View Range of the View both in Bottom and View Depth.

Maybe , when you have drawn your walls you've used Depth instead of Height....

That's odd... Michael, can you post a screenshot with your image selected? You may zoom in or out to "hide" the project, if you need. Another screenshot with one wall select would help to.

Thanks for adding, Constantin!

Rodrigo,

Here are some screen shots - i've moved the TIF file over so you can see the issue.

Constantin,

I've checked and the walls were all done using Height.

Hi Michael,

Would be better if the second capture focused on Properties Tab either, but that's ok 'cause you already checked walls (depth or height).

You may wanna check Constantin's s suggestions... Meanwhile, I found two things odd in your pics. First, you're working with shaded view but I've already tested and it doesn't cause your problem. The second one, why are your walls halftone? Are you working through underlay view?

Good question on the halftone - somehow my settings had changed with out me noticing it (guess I need more coffee) but when I change it normal that didn't seem to make a difference (see below). Also set it to wire frame as well.

Michael, gotta be honest... I can't figure it out. You may try what Constantin suggest, and in case it don't work, maybe try to convert your tiff to another format (jpeg or png) and reload into your model. It's a very long shot I even doubt that's gonna do any difference, but when all the obvious shots are fired...

Hope our colleagues can help you.

Rodrigo,

Thanks for the assitance. I'll play around and see if I can find out anything else (I've tried Constantin's advice - no luck)

Found the issue. In my floor plan properties I had discipline set to electrical instead of architectural. Once I changed it to architectural everything worked fine.

Hi, Please check the Discipline in the view properties. This happens if discipline is set to anything other than Architecture or Coordination.

Since your walls are showing in halftone, I think its in different discipline. Change to Arch or coordination & check

Hi,

I think that you have this problem because your display is set to wireframe.

Try to set it to hidden lines.

Nor sure ... but I hope it helps

It seem that you have edited/cropped the view port; reset the crop and try it; it solved my issue in an Elevation View.

Thank you! This worked for me, nothing above applied to my scenario but reset the crop and now it's printing just fine.

I had the same problem, and I was able to correct it by pinning the raster image, in my case a PDF, and the unchecking select pinned elements
