Hello.

Are you sure that this is the right family file? When I open it, it's almost all blank, with only a line.

Please, check the latest version of the family file.

Thanks.

Alright, I've opened the file and it has nothing but the chair. I have loaded in a project and no geometry showed up.

Maybe, this rectangles are something else. Try to hide the chair on that view and see what happen with the geometries.

Regards,

I have attached the whole kitchen family in case this is the problem.

Thanks again

I think I've narrowed it down to being caused by two of your families: UI_500 Base and HCD-831_Kitchen Bin:General Waste Bin (just one of the two bins).

Brilliant Thanks,

Can you see this object in the family as I can not see it?

Ok so I played around a a bit with the families in the editor and in the project and I'm pretty sure that these boxes are the geometry of that base cabinet and they just show up when they shouldn't. At testing I edited the extrusions in the family and I could see the changed geometry in the elevation views in the project.

There is no extra object or masking region for example in the family that creates those boxes, it's family geometry that displays in views when it shouldn't.

The reason I'm also including the trash bin as a possible problem is because at testing when I made this particular trash can not visible, as soon as I reloaded the kitchen family in the project, one of the boxes disappeared. I don't know how this could be related to the display issue of the cabinet geometry. I also didn't notice differences so far in how the different base cabinet families are built. Maybe I just didn't find anything yet? I'm really curious what the difference that causes this problem is. Did you build both families yourself or got them from the same source?

Those are the base cabinets. The reason is that you category the whole thing as a furniture.  Furniture is among the no-cutable categories.  What that means is geometries behind the cut line still show in your elevation/ section view.

The quickest way is change the family category to Generic Model.  The items inside the family can still be of their respective categories, such as, casework, furniture, specialty equipment, or plumbing fixture.
