Place it as another railing type in the space.

- Separate the railing sketches to create the opening for the door

- Create another railing that resembles the door

- If you need plan and elevation swing graphics then you can use detail lines/components

- If you have lots of them to be placed, you can create a non-host door family and use it

Hi

this is just my experience modelling that situation...

but please go ahead if you find it easy modelling in Railing..

 

on Plan, Its hard to show a Gate, its swing if you are using a Railing to model it..

you will be better off using a " Curtain Wall " for that design..

Easy to show

1. Varying heights

2. Gate

3. Gate Design ( Use Door Panel, customise it )

This methods works well. I like it because I'm able to use the same door tag as the other doors in the project and it's schedulable as a door; instead of making the gate as a railing that you can't edit as easily.
