Railing w/ inlay Pattern - How would you model this?

How would you model this railing?

I would like to have a normal railing family and then use a void to cut out where the inlay goes and then an in-place to model the decorative pattern.

However, I cannot void the railing with in-place or family void. This could be pretty easy if the railing can be voided. If it cannot, then I think it would be achieved through using an implace for the entire center decorative section and then have it flanked on both sides by the railing family.

I am looking for a practical streamlined workflow for modeling these types of features in railings. I am trying to figure out what is the best workflow we have right now?

First, model the family as a "Baluster-Panel. It should be a simple extrusion, with voids OR a simple bar polar-arrayed around the center then joined.

Then use it in the "Baluster Placement" as a part of the "Main Pattern" that repeats.

You can also download a few sample 'panels' from the cloud library:

There is a sample model in the content library (which you may not have installed but you need to) with a few good examples. I attached the 2025 model.
