Railing Post Rotation

I am modeling the deck seen in the reference image below. Notice the post which are circled red are out of square. Is it possible to square these post? The shape the railing follows is an octagon.

Have you considered placing the square Posts separately?

No, I haven't. What family for the post would you suggest? Architectural Columns?

If these were to be supports in lieu of balusters then you could build a rotation parameter into the support. If your rail is all a single sketch then those are corner posts, they all have the same angle so you could create a baluster family that has a rotation value and then duplicate the railing type with the rotated corner post type.

Otherwise no OOTB it is not possible to rotate either balusters or supports, rotation would have to be built into the family.

If you are going to place it manually I would use a Railing Support rather than a column, This way it will still turn on and off with the railing visibility.

I have attached my rectangular baluster family. I just added a rotation parameter to it.

Edit.... posted before I hit save in Revit this one has been updated
