Railing material hatch in section not shown

Hello guys,

I created a railing component and assigned a material to some part of it. In Family looks everything fine but when I load it to the model, I can't see the hatch patterns in section view. In 3D I can see material but patterns are not shown.

Old thread but I want to point out that railings will show fine in 3D when cut, but when cut in a section, all the railings will become one material and not show the individual layers anymore. It's very stupid but that's where your miscommunication came from. I found that if you use 2 rails you can use one normal railing and the top railing to have them to show up as separate materials in sections.
