I want my top rail and end post connection to look like this (picture 1) where they are both 1.5"x1.5" square tube cut at 45 degree angles and welded together. I tried to use a void extrusion as a rail termination but that did not seem to help. Thanks in advance

I would like my baluster to go up and tie into the top rail at the top corner. also I would like for the void not to show up but if I do line work on it then it hides the entire bottom line of the top rail
Specifically, I don't understand where a void comes into play here. Maybe posting your RVT would help me to help you.
I like how that looks on the top but I want that on the top rail top baluster connection. I do not like seeing the void. I want it to look just like your connection rail to rail.
I can't readily detect where the voids are coming from, but if I Copy/Paste your Railing segment to another Project, they are gone. I'm going to need more clues from you.
FWIW: see attached 2025 RVT containing your Railing segment.
BTW: if your design intent is that the Top Rail miters to the End Posts, you're not going to get there with Railing. You could get there by modeling the Railing with Beams (Structural Framing). But frankly, I wouldn't bother modeling that LOD. I would show that LOD in Details.
That was my intention. The voids are in the rail termination by the way. I will build it out of beams i suppose. then miter the beams to columns. That makes sense. I was hoping I could just use the rail tool thank you.

Makes perfect sense.
Still, seems a bit much going this route just to get mitered ends. I mean, it's going to be more work for sure.
