"repeater" can be cut by mass (not by generic model)

hello,

I made a repeater block, and tried many ways to be cut but cannot by generic model, does it actually so? or is there any way to be cut?

No you can't. Maybe you can get there with additive instead of subtractive "sculpting". Hard to suggest an approach though without having a more intimate understanding of what you doing.  Can you maybe post a photograph that shows the real-world element you are trying to model?

this is the real image, whatever I need a repeater array to cut (as a void) or a repeater block. This is the last obstruction to my ancient wooden architecture.

The beam is a parametric form, but the carved repeater is fixed size (tiles-cut)

There are two sub-straction at two faces,  

I am trying a pattern strip... but could not work.... any expert advice will be welcome.

Cut what? Cut the repeater with something or cut something with the repeater?

Can't you get there by repeating a solid with a void cut in it?

I just repeated this family; a solid form (rectangular) with a void form (circular) cutting it.  Not that special.

ok, use a mass (not generic) to cut mass. 

Before I had mixed up generic model amongst the masses, so unable to cut each other, now perfect

really excellent.
