"How to" set up a custom setting for linked Revit files

I am working on projects and every time I link an architect's Revit file, I have to go into the VG to adjust the settings.  What I would like to do is find a way to have a presetting to turn off and on certain VG options.

Is there a way to have a custom setting for the VG that I can use on all my projects for the linked Revit files?  I am mostly working in R20 and above.

Hi,

You can save your settings in the relevant view with View>View Template>Create Template from Current View and then import them to other projects.

Are you reloading the Link via Manage Links dialog box?  Doesn't sound like it.

Reloading the the linked file is not the problem.  I think you're missing what I am trying to do.

I am trying to get setting that can go from project to project.  It takes up a good amount of time turning on and off the VG options for the linked Revit files.  This is something I have to do for several views.  If I can find a solution, it can save me and my company days (maybe more) in design time.

View Templates + Transfer Project Standards.

Only if the links are with the same names across all projects.  In such case, you can save their VG to view templates.
