"File Not Saved" Error

So I have come across this issue with the recent Revit 2020 (student license) where apparently my file will not save, or backup. It is not a central file on a network, it is a local file, which I've seen as issues in other "file not saved" message boards, nor is it in "viewer mode". Well maybe it is, but no where does it say that it is within the file itself or the views. Even trying to "save as" to specify another file location will not allow me to save and I will get the same message. I've only had this issue with the recent updates. Does anyone have a solid work around, I would rather not lose about a weeks worth of work.

I have full access to this computer. Issue isn't opening a network file, since its not a network file. The issue is saving it. Which is did a few experiments, and now I can't even save a new project file period, before I've even specified any kind of file location.

With the student license I can basically do everything a subscriber has, I just get the watermark that it is a student license. And no I wish it was a simple as an open command waiting to execute. Poo.

ok last try, can you even send the file? i believe not because you could not save but... if you do have some sort of backup i can try to open it on a profesional licence.

Well because it won't save, it apparently hasn't been backing up either. So
the last save file I have from this project was from two weeks ago. I don't
think it's a license issue since I've been able to save projects in the
past.

How are you set for free space on your computer?  Have you tried saving to a different location (network drive, removable drive, etc...)?

According to your Journal file, this session of Revit has been open/active for two weeks with no save attempts from June 29 @ 22:46 to July 9 @ 16:15 (it looks like the bulk of the work was done on June 29th with some work being done on July 9 but limited work being done in between).  I would definitely recommend frequent saves, exiting Revit regularly and restarting the computer regularly as well - if for no other reason than to clear RAM, Temp files and system cache.

After reviewing the journal you supplied, I noticed numerous "License resume from sleep" entries.  Based on these, I believe you are dealing with the issue where hybrid power settings impact Autodesk 2020 product licensing.  This issue and the fix to resolve it are covered on this page.
