Questions regarding sloped walls: fill pattern and materials

Hello everyone,

In my Revit model I have created sloped walls by component (component > model in place > wall).

The problem at the moment is that my revit model is getting increasingly complex and thus hard to read. I want to solve this by having each wall that is cut through in the plans and sections be completely filled in black. For regular walls this can easily be done by setting the coarse fill patern to the solid patern but I cannot find out how to do this for sloped walls? Can somebody explain this to me? (if the question is unclear, there is a screenshot at the bottom of the post for clearification)

The second question is how can I assign different materials to my sloped walls or is this not possible? I want to have a different material on the exterior with respect to the interior for all my sloped walls? Is there a quick way to do this or can it only be done by the material paint tool for each sloped wall element?

Thanks in advance!

Milan,

So just a quick recap in a picture of this first question: I want my walls on the left (which are walls created by components in order to create sloped walls) to be completely black where the plan cuts through it (like the right wall).

It is better to have walls by mass when you want them sloped. Try to avoid in-place objects as they clutter your project browser. Quick fix for this is to have a view template with a black cut pattern for walls.

Thank you very much! This already worked for one part of my problem. As for the material-part, is there is simple solution to assign different interior materials than exterior materials for sloped walls?

The painttool will work. But I strongly advice, if you do have time, to create walls from mass faces. They are easier to manage and in case you want to change something later on in the process they are more flexible.
