Quantity survey/ linear unit

Hi,
In quantity schedule, I want to show the unit of some material as linear unit (lm), how can I do this ?

What’s the math? Can’t you just write the formula to calculate linear meters by extrapolating values from other fields?  Or, am I misunderstanding the challenge?

What categories are you scheduling?

Thank you for replies
I generated shape of water stop band (or water bar )in generic model ( l used revolve tool) ,but l want to schedule this element by linear meter because it is band and volume quantity has no-meaning

It's primary school geometry.  Below is an example of a simple family.

r = radius of centerline of revolve

Angle = revolve angle

Length (shared parameter) = 2 * 3.1416 * r * Angle / 360

Wouldn't "3.1416" = "pi()"?

e.g.: 2 * pi() * r * Angle / 360

Revit school vs primary school.

Thank you ToanDN,
Maybe you misunderstood me, I am not looking for the formula of the arc length,
My question is how can I create a schedule that will let me get the quantity amount of linear meter for a particular family ( for ex: band of water stop ) ?

@bechiri.2010: Go with me here...do you have any fields your schedule that report values that you could use in a custom formula calculation? I believe that is the larger point that Toan is making. If you know the math, then you can write the formula. How do you compute it manually?

Seriously?

This is an example if a revolve family that you need to build if you need to report the length in a schedule. If you don't want to do the formula in the family, you have to do it in the schedule via calculated value field, which is fine. Either way, you still need the formula.

The waterband information only useful to filter the schedule.

@Anonymous ha I was primary schooled properly but self taught Revit school so I didn't know how to write pi. Thanks.

@ToanDN, that's why I keep Munkholm's cheat-sheet pinned above all my workstations...because I forget sometimes too! HA!

Barth,

I bookmarked the very same page and showed it in my signature. But for some reason I didn't think about looking at it last night.

@bechiri.2010

Below is an example where I use the family in a project and schedule them.
