Quantities from ifc file

Hello all,

I need to calculate the volume, area  of the walls/floors etc. The architects has already modeled the 3D in ArchiCAD and they send me an ifc file. I linked it in Revit, but it seems that I cannot use schedules in order to get the quantities. Any idea, what I can do ?

Thank you in advance!

What is the reason you can not create schedules?

Normally when linking an IFC Revit creates a shared parameter file for each IFC.

You should be able to use those to create you schedule.

Also look at the elements in the IFC and see if the relevant data is present in the IFC

Other routes might be to use something like Navisworks or maybe you can extract the data from the IFC with Dynamo.

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

@L.Maas  ,

Thank you for your answer. I bind the ifc and I created a Material Take off schedule. But I see that some materials volume are 0 but in the 3D is I see that they correspond in an element.

Is  there any other approach better to do in  order to calculate the quantities?

Thank you!
