Yesterday file was performing slowly and as such used AUDIT followed by a PURGE ALL UNUSED ELEMENTS. This reduced the file size from 150mb to 62mb. Quite impressive. Some hours later noticed some section markers missing. Upon further investigation works out that the PURGE function had deleted ALL sections from the file. Not sure why however another colleague and I retested and replicated the same error on another computer. Active section elements and section details already placed on sheets were deleted.
Trying to workout if this is an issue relating to the file or the program. Has anyone else had errors with the Purge command?
What version of Revit are your using? I've used Purge on many projects, and it's never deleted a family or type that is currently being used.
Hi
I've had the same issue come up in Revit 2016. It seems to be related to Section Types that have been duplicated, i.e. not the standard Revit Sections.
Does anyone have anymore insight into this?
It has been reported here by several people. I have tried a defected file myself and 2016 has this bug, 2017 does not.
I think upgrade to 2017 may eliminate this problem. But 2017 comes with its own text size problems among others so you need to weight which one is more important for your projects.
