property lines over 90 degrees?

Hi Autodeskers,

What needs to be done to generate property lines by entering distances and bearings manually from a PDF that are measured over 90 degrees?

I have attached the image:

Thanks!

Reverse the bearing direction.

Are you sketching one of those perfectly rectangular-shaped lots?  If so, sketch the lot PLs orthogonally in the view, and then rotate the whole lot using the Rotate tool. Bada Bing.

...FWIW: the rotation angle is the Angle to True North.  If you want the lot orthogonal in the Project North View, enter that angle (as a negative value) into your Project Base Point's Angle to True North.

I think I may have misunderstood you.

Go to Site Settings under Massing & Site Tab and change these Property Data settings:

This image will explain the difference between the 2 types of bearings:

Degrees is the same as Whole Circle Bearing, while Degrees from N/S is more like Quadrantal Bearing.

As @barthbradley mentioned above you can change between the 2 types in the site settings.

Drawing it orthogonally and rotating it is a lot simpler.

TIP: Enter a Bearing as the Rotation Angle.  In this case, type in 85 05 30.

Here's what I was referring to when I suggested entering the angle of rotation (as a negative value) into the Project Base Point's Angle to True North:

NOTE: This is done AFTER you rotate the lot from orthogonal to get the bearings accurate.

Good luck.

Its a bug in Revit. Must cause a lot of confusion.
