I guess no one has trouble with simple rectangle lot.
When it has more than 5 segments or worst, involve an arc, I have problem using sketch by table. The out come always look funny.
My work around is to trace the assessor map for the moment, and wait until we have the lot lines sent by the civil, liability free.
But we don't always have civil on all projects.
What itching me is to find a good tutor, Revit architecture suite related, to learn this.
Anyone ?

What do you mean it "looks funny"? Like "haha" funny?
Does the accessor's map have distances and bearing? Typically, there are tables with additional data , especially regarding curves. The most critical thing to determine, when entering the distances and bearings into a Revit Table, is the direction of each line segment . You can only go in one direction in the Table, but many times the direction shown on the map changes mid-stream (e.g. reverse calls). Those need to be reversed in the Revit Table.
BTW: a good tutor could be found through the firm doing the civil planning. Give 'em a call. Might cost you no more an a cup of coffee and a croissant. ![]()
As @barthbradley writes, I too have observed that the bearing information on older property drawings or deed descriptions will "swap" orientation at times, North for South or East for West. As such when entering the information into the table the resulting property line starts to wander away from the site and doesn't remotely "close". I've been able to resolve it by "swapping" the bearing back.
I've imagined being the surveyor on site, the entries being casually made, while standing on site in a ravine with standing water, it's blazing hot and bugs are trying to kill them, there is a weird aggressive animal noise coming from the bushes nearby...and in a hurry they write South when North would have been correct. ![]()
