Hello autodesk, I want to have projected area for do a nomenclature solid topo . Help me please.
Yes, I just noticed Projected Area is not a Property of Toposolids. Interesting.
Following....
A quickie solution might be to Copy/Paste the Toposolid and Reset Shape of copy to get the Area of copy.
Hello, Thanks you, but in une nomenclature , There are going to be two topographies, it's not good.
For V2023, There was a projected surface in the parameters, it's a shame.

I seldom, if ever, have a need for Projected Area anyways, but yes, I can see that it may be a loss to someone else. I only gave you a quickie workaround. Another method would be to employ Dynamo. I have used a routine before to extrapolate the project areas of shape-edited floors. Should work here. Google it.
I just came across this and also find it annoying. There were definite use-cases for having a projected area.
A possible workaround would be to add another layer to the toposolid assembly and ensure that this layer doesn't follow the slope by making the layer above Variable. Then create a material take-off.
I tested this with a 100x100m toposolid as shown below.
So as we can see the toposolid schedule is not helpful for this task as it only has the surface area.
However, with some filtering we can use the Material Take-off to show material area of the bottom layer.
