Hello all,
My main question is how do you organise your projects with regard yours walls.
I have a big project in which I have designed the walls as single walls with multiple layers. So I have the concrete , the insulation, the pasterboard in a one wall structure.
The problem is that in some case I want to extend only the concrete layer, but as I have one wall structure all the layers are extended...so in the material take-off my quantities are not very precise.
Which is the correct way to impove my model?
Just to go Edit type and unlock the layer that I want to extend or it would be better to create the structural wall separate than the architectural walls ? Or it would be much better to create the architectural walls also as a separate layers?
What are you doing with your openings ? It seems that when I have two separate walls it is not so easy to control the layer that I want to turn towards the frame (see image)
Thank you in advance!
-The "single/compound wall" vs "multiple/individual walls" debate has been discussed many times on multiple Revit forums.
-There is no "right answer"--it depends on the project, wall types, team approach, etc.
-My preference is "single/compound wall" approach as it limits the number of individual walls that must constantly be edited/ joined/etc. In certain situations, we will model individual/multiple walls where required.
