My model of a small retail space has been gradually moving slower and slower and now it is virtually unusable. Switching between views and scrolling has a significant amount of lag--especially on my 3D perspective views which take so long to load, I keep thinking Revit has crashed.
The model is 34.9 MB and I have over 150 GB of ram available. I have tried purging unused items and deleting all extra views and sheets, but neither has made any kind of noticeable impact.
I suspect it has something to do with my lighting or visibility graphics (as it seems to have gotten bad right as I began changing up my lighting for rendering) however I have no idea what specifically that could be. I have had other, larger projects with more fixtures that did not run anywhere near this slowly. I've searched all around help forums, etc and haven't found any solutions, so I'm stumped.
Any help would really be appreciated!
A couple of things come to mind....
1) Make sure you have the latest updates installed. Which version are you experiencing this with? You can find any available updates on your Autodesk Account Management page: https://manage.autodesk.com/cep
2) Empty your %TEMP% folder: https://knowledge.autodesk.com/search-result/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/How-to-delete-temporary-...
3) What video graphics card do you have? Run the DxDiag tool and post the data here.https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/instantanswers/b319762b-f281-41b4-b746-d14de804b246/open-and-run...
4) Are you running in realistic display mode in your perspective views? That will certainly slow it down, especially as you pan around, but I've never seen it slow down to the point of not being able to move around.
5) Do you have a lot of other views open in Revit? Try closing only necessary views and see if that helps at all.

Come on, you have 150 GB of hard-drive storage available, not RAM. How much RAM do you have?
How did you change your lighting? Changed to different lighting fixture families? Change Sun and Shadow settings?
