Project Confliction

Hello all;

Still a new user with 2016 and am experiencing some technical difficulties that is making starting off a bit difficult.

I am trying to make a new project with independent files.  I want its drawings to be safe and sound in the newly-made project folder.  I used a drawing from another folder as  a template; wanted to get the same border.  however, now there is a  bizarre conflict that forces any drawing associated to that one need to have it present.  I couldn't get this to stop, so I deleted the newfound project to then try again.  This time I found the template file elsewhere and created my own drawings without reference to the previous folder, but the issue persists.  I tried moving the conflicting folder, but all that did was make everything now in the new folder inaccessible until things were arranged as they were before.

The folder causing the trouble is the Aegs folder provided with the installation of the program.

Is there some slight step that I am missing to make my drawings not dependent on this folder?  i am trying to label my drawings with their own drawing numbers for reference purposes, but this little project argument is throwing a weird wrench into everything.

Welcome to the forum.

Did you simply saved as a .rvt file as a new project, or did you save your .rvt file as a template file (.rte) to start a new project? It´s better to start a project with a true template file (.rte).
