Profile won't attach to adaptive point

I can't seem to get adaptive points to work. No matter what I do nothing actually attaches to the adaptive points.

 

I tried following the attached tutorial as shown @ 07:40 and I can create the form but as soon as I move the adaptive points they simply detach from the form. They don't adjust the solid as they do in the video.

Select 2 Adaptive Points at a time and pick Spline Through Points.

Attached the family but it is just 4 adaptive points connected by reference lines created just as shown in the video.

That worked. I didn't realize they had just moved it to a button so assumed it was no longer an option.
