Hy guys,
I am having some problems with temporary dimensions in Revit 2019. When I set temporary dimensions (Manage - Additional settings - Temporary dimensions) for Walls to center of Core, they show the center or the face of the core of the wall, which is good. But after that if I click on the blue dots and change temp. dimensions to faces of the wall, the temp. dimensions cannot change to center of core anymore. Although temp. dim. properties still show center of core.
Thanks in advance ![]()
Any manual changes you make to a temp dim form an element is "remembered". If you need it to measure to the original position, you have to manually move it back there.
Thank you for your reply,
however, I tried to manually move witness line, but it only recognises faces of entire wall, or the centerline of entire wall, and it doesn't recognise faces of core, or center of core
Yep looks like faces of core and center of core are only recognized by temp dims at initial placement. Once moved, those are no longer recognized positions.
You would have to place a permanent dimension to find those positions again.
Yes, that's what is happening exactly. Is there a way to manage this?
thanks anyway
After I selected a wall I toggled with location line in wall properties, and somehow this was fixed, only now witness lines recognize everything except wall center. I'll take this small win
