Problem with Railings Hosting to Stairs

I had no problem modifying a switchback stair I had previously created, adding more risers below the landing and reducing the number of risers above the landing.  The problem was with the railing.  It became unhosted when I modified the railing to align with the new stair configuration.  I have tried numerous things including get the railings to host including, creating new railings and trying to host them and creating new railings hosted to the stairs.  Since the default configuration does not work (since the railing goes across the top of the landing), I have to modify the railing.  Whenever that happens, the railings become unhosted.  The only solutions seems to be to recreate the stairs from scratch.  Any ideas?

In Railing sketch mode, try splitting the railing sketch lines into two separate lines at the landing.

Or--just crate separate railings for the stair and landing--pick hosts separately.

Sometimes a Floor for the Landing will work better, instead of the "stair landing" landing.
