Hi,

first sorry for my english...

I installed site designer 2017 and i can´t create or modify the familys of streets, curbs or other elements.

For example: i need a street with 1 lane and 6 meter of width, but when open the family for modify, the units goes crazy, and the 6 meter change to 60000000 meter, if i put 2% they will change to 2000000%, this bug happen with all the parameters of the site designer, i try to change the units, but don't works.

For example, in the image  open the editor family of site designer, by default the Value are in this case
Lane width        : 3.65m

paviment depth : 0.3m
cross slope :2%

but when i try to modify and open the editor, splat! the value change.

help please!

(sorry for my english again)

is it possible your site designer 2017 installation did not work properly?  try to do a repair or a reinstall.

This is a bug in Site Designer. I'm assuming you're not american and use metric formating in your Windows? Site Designer can't handle comma as decimal symbol. Everyone at our office here in Norway had this problem and we just recently found the solution to this after discovering that an American colleague of ours did not experience this problem. Changing the Decimal symbol in Windows language preferences from comma to period should resolve it. Changing just Revit Project Units does not help.

Why this hasn't been discovered if everyone outside US is affected is beyond us. Problem still persist in Revit 2018. We haven't tested this on other operating systems than Windows, so it could be that ie. iOS is not affected(?)

Much appreciated about your reply nikohansen.

I spend the whole morning trying to find out what was going on with this plugin but can't handle to find the solution (even after some reinstalations).

I tried your solution and in some way it helped me but, at the end, the file has problems syncing if you are working with central models and tries to change the units of the OS. I supose it's something that should be done at the very begining of the file creation.

I will try your solution, but i don't have installed the plugin right now, and i'm in a travel for europe 🙂

Hi 1cristian.sz !

I found out that post, with some more investigation in the forum. It brings you to the following support page:

Site Designer: Unexpectedly large values for parameters in new or modified curb family type

Looks like it's something they noticed but they haven't much time to repair 😕
