Problem with in-situ stairs

Guys, I need some help with a stairs that is giving me some revitism's -

I am building a pre-cast stairs using the sketch function (which I have done before with no issues) and firstly, it keeps building it backwards, and then for some reason the top two steps are modelling as flat planes. But the real problem is that if I attempt to flip the stairs I get the "can't make stairs" error. I've tried everything but nothing works to correct this error, except that if I change the construction to the assembled private stairs, then it will build.

I am thinking that there is some parameter for in-situ concrete stairs that I don't understand?

Have you tried the old "first create a dummy stair by component, then convert it to sketch based one and completely edit it" trick?

I don't know anything about building a stairs by component; could you give me a brief explanation please?

It's what Revit gives you when you start the stair command, before you switch to sketch based. Just start the command, set start and end levels (or offsets) and draw a single run. Then select that run and "Convert" it to sketch based (button on ribbon). Then edit the hell out of it with usual sketch tools.

Increase structure depth of run, or change the run underside to stepped, not sloped.

By the way, precast is not in-site (cast in place).

Thanks for the suggestion and explanation. I tried it but unfortunately I got the same error when I attempted to complete the stairs.

ToanDN,

Thanks for the suggestion. It was partially successful - changing the structural thickness made no differences regardless what thickness I used, but if I changed to a stepped underside the stairs would build. The problem is that a stepped underside is not the desired effect.

I tried to reduce the overall width of the stairs run and, again, I was partially successful with this time the middle steps were only being formed as flat planes. I'm still trying to understand what is it about this stairs that Revit does not like. I previously made a more complicated stairs with no issues?

Can you isolate those two floors that should be connected by that stair, their levels, the stairs, and share it with us?

Did you model everything with the same Run Type and Landing Type -> check if they have the same depth and properties. (see picture below)

Or maybe try modelling just with the Monolitic Run and see if the depth is OK then.
