Problem when exporting ifc, wall layers not showing..

Hi all,

I have encountered a problem when exporting an .ifc file. When f.e. exporting walls or floors with layers (like concrete, insulation and so on) revit exports only interior and exterior planes (but not the inner planes seperating materials) Is there a way to fix that? (creating parts manually of every item before exporting is not preferred option do to the size and complexity of the project).

P.s. this happens with every export setup, even detail level is set to "high". Ifc tested with multiple ifc readers like Solibri Model Viewer, Tekla Bimsight and A360 viewer.

Thank you in advance!

I have the same problem. The only solution I have found is to create parts for all the system families in Revit. When you explode, you will get the layers.

You'll notice without exploding the layers, you won't be able to generate proper material schedules from the IFC either.

Thanks, Kimtaurus

Yeah, I thought so too, but IMO it should be clever way to do that.. Exploding every time you need to export takes extra time, and is not possible when collaborating via central file, and your partners far away forgets to relinquish.. :leicht_lächelndes_Gesicht:

Does anyone have more suggestions?
