Problem to model a roof

Hello!

I need to model a roof with several waters in Revit. Using the tool of selection of the edges of the roof, the ridges are not formed as designed (notice that there is the meeting of ridges in a kind of a cross). I tried to do it for parts, but there is a "break" done automatically by the software (indicated in the attached image). Could someone help me in how can I model it?

Raise your ridge height (change pitch or raised bearing wall or add heal).

Post your file. Be easier to show you.

@Anonymous : if you can't post the file, please post the slopes that you think make that Roof Plan feasible.   I can't make sense of it -- or get there.

hello, why don't just share your roof plan only here, since you have already created, so that we can check and make some suggestions rather than we are guessing because we don't have actual dimensions of your building? thanks

there is not an easy task - you need a fine tuning for this...

I've tried to make from a single roof by footprint but there are errors even the geometry is correct.

It works better by using two roofs joined together. The conic shaped roof was made separately.

Shape editing completely slipped my mind.

I can get there via Modify Sub Elements:

...all the ridges share the same height. 4 elevated points is all that is needed.  The rest of the points (17 of them) are on the boundary @ zero origin.

I got the same problem when I tried to do the roof in just one piece.

@barthbradley @ennujozlagam Sorry for it. I didn't think to do that, I will provide the next time and if I can't solve this problem that I asked in this post. Thanks for the help!!

@barthbradley Can you help me? I tried to do again with just one part (disregarding the conic stretch). I could not attach the revit file, but the design of the roof follows in the picture.

So the roof plan is correct and the model is not?

You really helped me! I can edit your project to fit in mine.

But, can you send me the steps you made to produce it? I use Revit 2019, I don't have some tools that appear in your file. Are them plug ins? (showed at the image attached)

Those are shape editing tools.  They appear when you select a roof (or floor) that has no slope defining edges. If your roof has sloped edges (or a slope arrow) in the sketch, you will not see these tools when the roof is selected.

Revit LT does not have these tools at all. i know you said you have Revit 2019, but just in case.

If you don't have those tools, just use the pitch angles from the roof I gave you to define your slopes.   This is the information that you need to model it as per your Roof Plan.

Or, you could find the slopes the old school way -- by drawing angled Ref. Planes from plate to ridge in Elevation View, and then measuring the angles. Either way though, you still need to determine your ridge height.  I think I used 12'-0". I have no idea if this is what you want.

I followed your steps to design a roof, just for learn (the dimensions aren't correct), but all my nearby points are automatically connected by a line, so, the shape of the roof get wrong. How can I chose the points I want to connect, or how can I delete these lines (if Revit allows me to do that)?

Hello, @ToanDN . I want to make the model from the plant, but if you only do the edges, Revit automatically creates a model that is not the correct one (the ridges do not meet as they actually need to be).

But @barthbradley helped sending me his file, now I'm trying to understand how I can do that. If you can help too I'll be pretty thankful.

Attached is what I've got using all roofs by footprint, no shape editing.
