Problem in sketching stairs

Why can't i sketch a stair case like attached picture, where the first riser is under the last risers, i mean that there will be an overlapping in the stairs, the last step shall be over the start of the stairsCapture.JPG

That is because the sketch is all on one plane and Revit sees the lines that you know are on a differnt level as intersecting each other and thus cannot generate the stair. Create the stair by component instead of by sketch, and then adjust it.

I think spiral is not drawn by sketch ?

Which is why. Model by component - and then tweak. That is how I got mine to work.

Ok dear friend i believe in what u say. But. Even if i tried to creat
stairs by componant and then edit the first step. Revit will not accept
this step if it is overlayed with another part of stair. Am i clear in this
point ?

SIgh. Here goes -

1) Model stair by component

2) Select Stair

3) Edit Stairs

4) Select the run of the stairs that you need to edit the step

5) Click Convert

6) Close the warning

7) Edit Sketch

8) The selected run will have green and black lines like this

Capture.JPG

9) The green lines are Boundaries. The black lines are Risers. You can edit them

10) Edit the last step till it looks like this

11) Click the green check mark twice to accept the change. You have edited the sketch.
