Print view to scale

Is it possible to print a view or part of a view to scale for collaboration without first putting the view on a sheet?  Thinking about preliminaries, when working with students.  Its easy, in autocad, to print anything to scale regardless of whether views are on sheets. Is there a similar capability in Revit?  All I can find is zoom scale.

You can print views by a similar method to sheet.

There a couple of things to consider when trying to print similar to AutoCAD.  Firstly there is no print by window, however there is a print Visible portion of current view which is the Revit equivilent.  If the scale is set to 1:50 and the zoom is set to 100% it will print at 1:50 scale.  In the setup choose whether it will print centered or not.

Obviously this will print to the view scale, however there is no guarentee that this will fit on the Paper, ensure that you preview first.

Its the exact same way for imperial. Set a view to the scale you are going to want to view it at on a sheet. Then print 'visible portion of current view' with zoom set to 100% and centered, do a preview to see how it will look.

If it looks good, then print, if not then change your view scale and try again.
