Print Multiple Sheets at once

Hello,

I would like to ask you if there is any way how to print multiple sheets on plotter.

In my plotter there is inserted roll paper which hieght is 297mm. However, my sheets in Revit have different lenght - for instance 840x297mm, 1050x297mm, etc.

When I want to print all my sheets with same height(297mm) but different lenght, I have to set up size in my plotter settings before printing each sheet.

Is there any way how to automate it ? For example to set the print according to the size of sheets or something like that ?

I do not want to set up sheet size in plotter settings for each sheet.

Answer: create each sheet in the same size is not enough for me - I need to have different sizes of sheets.

Thank you for your help

Diroots Pro Sheets is, in my opinion, the best solution for batch printing.

You can learn more about it here:

[Diroots Pro Sheets](https://diroots.com/revit-plugins/revit-to-pdf-dwg-dgn-dwf-nwc-ifc-and-images-with-prosheets/).

Hi @MichalHakel_SP,

Each printer/plotter is different and has different ways of settings.

Most printers can define custom page sizes, which then can be used in the Revit print configs.

A question, if you have multiple pdf's with different sizes, can you print them all directly to the plotter?

If not than it's a plotter issue and not Revit.

Thank you for your opinion.
As you wrote I can not print multiple pdf´s all directly on my plotter.

But I can do it by using AutoCAD. I just have to set up size for each sheet in the beginning and then, using batch plot, I can print my sheet collection at once on my plotter while I can not do the same in Revit.

When I set up sheet size for all my layouts in AutoCAD, then, in batch plot I can define "use layout settings" and I can print my sheet collection whenever I need - for revision, edition etc.

Batch plot in Revit, however, does not have this option.

Maybe I am wrong and also I shouldn´t compare AutoCAD with Revit as I know, everybody in this forum hate comparison AutoCAD and Revit.

However, it is wierd for me that if we are talking about simple procedure of printing sheets, it is so easy to do it by using AutoCAD and great Revit has no such option and I have to print all my 34sheets each by each in front ... everytime I need to print all my collection for some reason.

Think about it. Revit sheets do not have a plot set-up applied to them. You have to be sure you are using the correct one each time you print. There is no saved plot information applied to the sheet like there is in AutoCAD.

Are you plotting directly out of Revit, or do you create a PDF and then plot from the PDF?

I always create a PDF and then plot from there (out of Bluebeam, or whatever PDF software you use). Most of what you do will depend on the plotter driver.

If you have an HP plotter, you are doomed. Better look for  a local company that plots. Or convince whoever still needs paper to use electronics.

Here is the video representing how I did it by using AutoCAD.

I use to insert 4 types of paper roll into my Canon IPF770 plotter - 297mm, 420mm, 594mm and 914mm.
For every sheet/layout in AutoCAD I set up size in "Page Setup Manager".

Then I insert paper roll with height of 297mm into my plotter, click on "batch plot" select all sheets with "297" in name, change "Publish To": "Plotter named in page setup", change how many copies I want to print and click on publish.

Thanks to this approach I can directly print all my sheets with height of 297mm on my plotter (no matter what is the lenght of my sheets).

I do the same for my sheets of height 420, 594 and 914mm.

It means I can print directly from AutoCAD to my plotter multiple sheets in multiple coppies I need.

I just wanted to find out similar proccess in Revit. Because if there is no such a proccess in Revit and I have to print all my sheets one by one...it is funny that I can save time by printing from AutoCAD and timesaver Revit does not allow me such an option to save time during printing...
