Preventing nested generic annotations from halftoning along with family category

I’ve got specialty equipment families with nested generic annotation labels. When I halftone the category, the annotations also get halftoned. Any way to keep the annotations black besides half toning the linework in each family?

is there a reason your have the Label nested in the family vs using a Tag?

Good question - mainly for speed of placing family instances. When you have 100+ Instances of the same family - tagging may be a bit of a drag.

Your only alternative is to set the specialty equipment and the subcategory as gray line. That way the generic annotation within the specialty won't be effected.

There might be a solution.

Place the annotation in a shared nested 3D family of category other then speciality equipment.

Caveats:

  • you can only halftone by category.
  • you can't halftone the category of the shared nested family, as it will now include the annotation.
