Precast Hollow-Core Slab

I want to add the Precast-Hollow Core Slab from the Precast Concrete Family to the second floor, and I have loaded it into the project but I do not see it on the list of available floors when I use Floor Architectural and neither Floor Structural. When I re-reload it into the project, a dialog tells me if I want to overwrite the existing version, so that means that the slab family is already there loaded. Why I cannot see that slab in the list of available floor types under Properties? How to put it on the second floor then? (I can put some other generic floors, but not that one with the hollow cores since it is not on the list) Thanks in advance.

Family you have loaded is probably Structural Framing.

There is no way to create floor with holes using Floor category.

Look under Structural Framing, create floor using Beam System tool.

I see it now under "Beam". Thanks, Mirko, I would not have found it without your hint. Additional related questions: 1. Since I already have drawn some of the floors using a generic slab, is there a way that I can just change them quickly for this new slab by modifying or ....(?) without having to erase the wrong one and redrawing it again correctly? (I tried to find a way to replace it but could not find the way yet). 2. Under the Project Browser, under Structural Plans, I see the plans of some of the floors but I do not see the one of this Second Floor that I am working with. Why? Thanks again.

Unfortunately, you can't just replace floors with structural beam system.

You can, however, create "correct" floor (created with hollow beams) on one level and then copy/paste aligned to other level, if they are repetitive.

If you have a level in your model, but there is no view for it, go to "View" tab, then under "Plan Views" select type of the plan you need and after that select level for which to create selected plan(s).

Also, when drawing level, there is an option "Plan View Types..."  in the options toolbar (usually under the ribbon) where you can select which plans Revit will create automatically when you draw your level.

It seems that this slab is missing "edit profile" capability: Now that I put one of these hollow core slabs on the second floor, I notice that it only could be lengthened but that this one instance put there cannot be conveniently modified with "edit profile", like some of the other generic floor types, to get an uneven floor shape.  So that means that I will have to copy each one individually or array one to fill the entire floor, it seems.  I also notice that I can change the widhts and revise the names of each new size accordingly with the "Edit Type" of Properties, which will make the creation of a complex floor laborius, but apparently I will have to do it that way.

If there is any other quicker way, and any correspondent knows it, please advise.

I still can't find the "hollow core" that I've apploaded, is it possible to place it using Revit Architecture?

There are several ways you can use structural framing, beam system tool and cut with reference plane as well as beam opening tool to achieve what you wanna do. But, I am not sure what are you trying to acomplish, if you can provide some images or part of your model.
Regarding "hollow core", it is beam (structural framing), there are no hollow core floors in Revit.

Hi,

Actually, you can split you structural floow in Hollow Core Slabs by using the Structural Precast Extension for Revit.

Thanks, yes, you can, but it depends how much details and freedom you need.

I still believe using Beams (Structural Framing) is better solution for this, for example, can you create examples from the pictures below using the Structural Precast Extension for Revit:

Of course, you can always hack Revit a little bit using this trick you get everything in Floors category:
