Assuming the scan files have been registered (aligned) with each other already; so they align properly in software like Autodesk's Recap...

You should be able to link the first file Auto - Center to Center and all subsequent files using Same as Last Placed.

Thanks, but it is not arrange at Auto center to center actually we have modeled one platform in Revit which doesn't on coordinates now the second new one are on new coordinates and we are trying to merge it but it can not be on one simple file, we have tried it on Auto position, shared ordinates by changing angles etc,
I have stucked n that situation please give me suggestion for this waiting for your positive reply.

You have to start at the beginning...with the scans. If they are not registered with each other by the people who create the point cloud data to begin with you'll never get them to line up in Revit...exactly. Start there, if you use ReCap you can load scan files (RCS) or create file from source point cloud formatted files. The scans can then be combined to create a scan project (RCP) that Revit can import. If the available scan files don't line up with each other see if the people who did the scanning can register the files. If the file came from different sources then you'll have to approximate the alignment which you can just do in Revit too...it will just be close but not exact. Good luck!

Whenever we get point cloud data, we request that it's provided to our project coordinates rather than survey coordinates.  While it causes the occasional grumble from the surveyors they (mostly) recognize that things building-size and smaller are more about relative dimensions than exact geodetic coordinates and true-north orientation.

That way we can have nice easy project north orientation for design work and everything, including the point clouds, lines up without any extra buggering about.

Thanks for your reply, but I have modeled in Revit of first part of point cloud, second one was not yet been modeled! yes they are aligned in recap but they are not aligned in Revit, As shown how they can be aligned together? the new one have proper coordinates and the second one have not been made on coordinates/survey points,

Yes they scan perfectly and on point on Recap and also on Naviswork.

Once the first indexed file is loaded other files are supposed to use the same positioning so that they align properly and that is accomplished using the Import option: Same as Last Placed.

Have you done that with the subsequent files?

I've experienced this issue of late.  My work process is to import the scan files, register them and then create regions. Typically I isolate the building(s), the wider context and finally the topography - which I then load into Cloud Compare to reduce the number of points, export the reduced file as a txt file and then create topography in Revit using the 'from imported file' option.

The issue arises when I try to import point clouds (as separate regions) into revit - the point clouds don't align and the topo created from the txt file can be way out....

The solution I have found is to create the regions in Recap in the normal way (building, context, topography etc.) but instead of importing them into Revit as separate files import the whole Recap file instead.  In Revit you can then use VG to select which regions you want displayed.

Hope this helps.
