I'm trying to get a point cloud I recently generated in Remake to render properly in Revit. It looks half decent on the screen but the print out is a complete bust (see attached images). Any recommendations on how to fix this? Do I just need to bump up the point cloud density? A little surprised there isn't better compatibility here. It seems like there should be a way to bring a textured dwg or obj into Revit but I can't get this to work either. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your post. In this case, have you tried downloading the trial version of recap 360 (link below) to compare the point cloud translation to then bring this into Revit. Does this still display with this ill behavior? Currently, ReCap has the ability to input survey points on the images which ReMake does not have. On the other hand ReMake has a comprehensive set of tools to process extremely large datasets (something that drones can easily generate). The issue could be the translation in Remake as opposed to Recap as preferred for Revit data collaboration in this example from your screen shots. Please let us know how this worked out. Thank you and we look forward to your reply.
Recap Download: http://www.autodesk.com/education/free-software/recap-360-pro
From our Product Manager to explain these differences in the two software’s;
Anything connected with data from Laser scans ( register, clean up and prepare for downlstream workflows - you need ReCap Pro) as part of the subscription you get also access to ReCap 360 which is the photo to 3d mesh solution mainly focused around drone capture and landscape type of use where ortho imagery etc is important.
ReCap also allows you to combine laser scan data of a building with photo scanned data from a drone - in a POINT cloud environment
and reCao ahas a service to convert a laser scan to mesh and then clean up fix and export in remake
If you are not interested in drone data, ReMake is for you - its a complete solution from capture to high end model prepped for further design use, AR?VR, 3d printing or publish on the web.
(the quality of the 3d models are same regardless if you send them from ReMake or from reCap360 - what ReMake offers is an environement that can create but also clean up fix edit and optimize the HUGE meshes that are a usual result when high quality meshes are made from reality and prepare them for the above mentioned use
hope this helps

Thank you for your advice. I've downloaded Recap and had several forum exchanges in an effort to bring a file generated in ReMake into Revit. I've had many failures. At present it looks like there are two work flows that might work bringing point cloud information usefully into Revit.
1) Export the RCM file to a PTS file and bring this into Revit. To have a site model work effectively with a large development I've found that the 10000 points per meter is not a bad starting point but it can take a while for the computer to process.
2) Export the RCM file to FBX and import this into Autocad. Save this as a DWG. I have attempted to bring this into Revit on a less powerful computer than the one I have at my work and it is not showing up. This may be a RAM or graphics card issue.
Option 2 is definitely the preferred option if I can get it to work since a textured mesh instead of a point cloud will allow us to make desirable street level shots for the developer. The point cloud just doesn't work very well for street level shots at this point.
Should I perhaps spend more time desiccating the RCM model before I save to FBX? It seems the high number of facets is more relevant for a PTS export than it is for an FBX one.
Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.
