Hello all,
I have to differents models in Revit with the same coordinates.
I insert in the both models a point cloud that it is georeferenced. Comparing the two models I see that there is a shift in the point cloud.
I already delete the temp files and the journals.
Do you have any idea why that happens ?
Thank you in advance!
Insert the point clouds in a blank Revit model and insert that model in your models and use shared coordinates.
OK, I will try it.
I notice that in my first model all the points clouds are shifted.. Do you have any idea why it may happens?
Generally it is preferable to have a Revit file with only the points clouds ? Instead of insert them in the models directly?
Thank you!
So, the Project Location is Defined by Survey Point/GIS Coordinates? Point Cloud won't respond to Geocoordinates. Try inserting the Point Cloud into another Project and Link that Project with the PC into your Project. Set up Shared Coordinates between the two.
Or read this:
Point Clouds - From georeferenced to local Revit coordinates - Modelical
Just to confirm: when you select the Survey Point, are the coordinates huge – well beyond Revit’s 20 mi (33 km) limit?

It could be the georeference is beyond Revit's 20-mile limitation. In other word, because the earth (georeference) is not flat but Revit calculations are based on the assumption of a flat plane.

That is what I would prefer to have more control of locating it and sharing coordinates.
Thank you!
Method to use when setting up your Point Cloud File: Specify Coordinates at Point.
