Dear Experts
Recently I would like to change our design software from AutoCAD 2D to Revit. I am learning Revit now and there is 1 problem with Revit skill. So I need your help
I send a picture of our sample project:
Our product is insulated panel, it's joined by pieces. When it's designed by Revit, I need put the dimension as autoCAD. But in Revit if I don't divide part I cannot put a dimension like autoCAD. I have an idea to make the surface by patterns, it look like bellow picture
in this idea I can put the dimension at the elevation but I want to put the same in the plan drawing to make it same autoCAD --> But I cannot.
I tried another way by creating a new family using Generic model, but it's not a wall so I cannot put a door or window as automatic opening cut.
I would like to send you my wall family, please help me.
Thank you very much!

There are quite a few options for this, you can use reference planes for the dimensions, you can also draw matching model lines on floor plan and elevation, you can create parts, you can also use wall reveal to cut the wall.
Hi Bin
Could you help me by put your idea on the Revit data Which I attached before. As you know I am learning Revit now, so I really need a certain support?
Because sometimes we have to change the size of panel wide, so I would like to get an option that can easy to revise in the future.
Thank you very much!

Another option is to use curtain walls for this, without mullions - just solid panels.
No problems, here are some samples, and personally, I prefer wall reveal I think.
Yes, @Anonymous is right, curtain wall is also a good option, but to have a door, you need to have walls instead of solid panels.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Bin
The filled pattern is good option for me, but I cannot put the dimension on plan view for this option. Could you teach me how to display the pattern on the plan view and how to create a dimension on it also.
Other options are manually one, so when I extend the wall it's need time to change also.
Thank you very much!
Hi experts
Could you give me the Revit data like your attached picture? It sound great option.
Thank you very much!

Create a wall using the curtain wall type, and then place curtain grids where the divisions are meant to be. Select the panels and make them solid panels (or glazed and change material to solid type). You may have to adjust the properties of the panel so that they line up at corners and so that the thickness is correct.
Please find the attached Revit file, I also included the curtain wall method.
Fill pattern is not ideal because in a floor plan, the walls are usually cut and showing the cut pattern, which is not related to the surface pattern.
