Hello,
I have decided to do a kind of a research on how does Revit calculates plaster VOLUME and AREA. Despite all of my attempts I was unable to make Revit calculate plasters including window/door/head jambs correctly, since the "wrap" options in wall options are only a matter of graphics display.
The only way was using far too complicated (considering larger projects also long) procedure based on placing separate (jamb) families around each window/door.
If this issue has ever occured anyones mind, Im kindly asking you to let me know your findings.
Thanks, E.
I do understand your struggles, other people also opted it as an idea.
To get an estimation, I would make a reporting parameter in your window/door family which calculates the amount of plaster rather than drawing it.
Hi
i would suggest to do a test.
A.plain wall
B.cut opening
C.with window
D. With plaster wrap
E. With plaster without wrap
am sure you will get the answer...
I too feel your pain, @edita.kuncarova. This is one of my biggest grievances with Revit. Wall wraps are absolutely worthless; nothing more than cosmetic linework. Not only can they not be quantified, but can’t be selected either – and they don’t interact with other model elements. They provide zero BIM value. Yes: there are workarounds; but none are acceptable, and all are problematic.
Sorry for my outburst. Have a good day.
P.S. I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that this has been an IDEA for over a decade now.
Your solution is probably in this plugin
