Placing new cables and empty pipes

Hey all!

right now I'm trying to digitalize my own house with Revit. Since I'm currently renovating it, I want to make sure I map especially all newly placed cables to prevent damages made by future tenants.

I just added a new cable in a floor plan:

I can't see any options to specify any height-information for this cable:

In the sectional view (Ansicht 6-a) I can't see the cable nor can I place a new cable, e. g. vertically:

So my first question is: How can I place cables both horizontally (with an offset to a specific level) and vertically?

My second question is: How can I place a route of an empty pipe? I only can place one and get then an error message:

As I'm quite new to Revit, I'd appreciate simple and understandable answers. 🙂

Many thanks in advance and best regards

Stefan

Hi! Pipes and cable routing/placing can be frustrating, but you have posted your question to the Revit Architecture forum. I think you'd get more chances of a good response if you posted it to the Revit MEP forum (Revit MEP Forum - Autodesk Community). Not many using Revit architecturally would know how to properly use the cable and piping tools.

@esk0r No, your suggestion was absolutely fine! 🙂 I posted the question in the German forum, maybe this is helpful for someone who finds this thread: https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-bim-360-deutsch/wie-in-revit-ein-kabel-durch-leerrohre-verlegen...
