A new feature in Revit 2023 is that it remembers the last hosting choice made by the user (vertical face, face, workplane). Is there any way to change this back to always default to vertical face?
Further explanation: we use a 3rd party family placement tool, and when Revit 2023 remembers 'workplane' as the most recent, it defaults to that when drag-n-dropping a family which causes the 'Pick a workplane' dialog box to appear for any family, even if it should be a vertically hosted family. Is there any registry key or hidden option setting for the INI to adjust this behavior to how it worked prior to 2023?
need to start the family from a Face based template. If you don't want to rebuild the family, simply nest it in a blank vertical face based family and associate parameters?
80%+ of my electrical content families are already face based (intended vertical face to be placed in a plan view). 20% makes up the other two options (horizontal/ceiling/floor face) and Workplane (floors turned off, etc.). But as soon as a workplane based family is most recently used, it causes an endless cycle of issues for any families intended to be Vertical Face or Face based.
Autodesk, is there any way to control this new-to-2023 behavior?
