I am attempting to model a building with a very particular complex roof shape, one that we were only able to create using an in-place mass. I chose to make the roof sloped glazing, as the roof is a smattering of glazed panels, solid metal panels, and louvered panels, and the grid matches a series of reveals existing in the building. I placed the grids in fine, however when I attempt to place in custom modeled panels (just a plain thin glass panel with paint applied to one side so a fritted texture can be used) and Revit gives this error- "Can't make type "Glazed Panel - Backpainted : Glazed Panel"." This panel type works perfectly fine in a flat curtain wall.
Additionally, I am trying to place the panels in a broad section of curtain wall on another section of the building and I receive the same error. This geometry is all in plane, however the top and bottom lines of the wall are arcs, meaning all the panels are rhombus shapes.
Its clear to me that Revit is struggling to place the curtain panels into the non-rectangular shapes formed by the curtain walls. Is there a way that I can construct my curtain panel family to allow Revit to constrain properly to the geometry? Or is Revit simply not capable of placing custom curtain panels into non-rectangular forms?
(NOTE: I am aware that there are other ways to accomplish what I'm trying to do, I am not trying to receive different techniques I'm just trying to figure out more about custom curtain panels.)
Thanks.
