Pilaster question

I am trying to create a pilaster on an exterior wall. I tried using an architectural column but I couldn't get the reveals in the column.

How would I go about setting this up in Revit? Two separate 2x6 walls (one with the exterior finish and one without)?

Your suggestion of using two walls would be the easiest. This way, uou can run your wall sweeps along the regular wall and the pilaster wall as well. I think the sweeps could wrap back along the sides of the pilaster wall. If not, then perhaps you create a wall type for the pilasters that is just the thickness of the finish and the then the pilaster is made by making a 'U' shape out of the 'thin' wall. The you could elaborate the real construction in an enlarged plan. But at least this way, you will have your sweeps seen in elevation wrapping the pilaster face and sides.

Does this help or is my explanation more confusing than not?

I have created two stacked wall types. One is a 2x6  wood framed wall on a 5 1/2" concrete curb, the other is the same but with a 2x8 wood framed pilaster built in front of it. But I cannot figure out how to get the finishes and sheating on the pilaster to return back to the 2x6 wall.

I've attached a Revit 2015 model of what I have been able to figure out so far.

Any additional help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Does one of these help? I have set up the 3D views with a step by step method...so, check them out and let me know...

Yes that does help. I went with the alternative pilaster solution. This is my first real Revit project. Thanks for your help.
