Guys,
I have problem picking text when I need to move it. It s always difficult. You have to pick right at the cross symbol to move it, and only young eyes can do that.
So instead of moving I have to do the control+pick as in copy and paste, and come back to delete the first one.
Is there a setting I missed ?
Or someone has a better trick to deal with this ?
Anyone ?
You can click anywhere within the textbox to select the text, then click Move button (or type in 'MV' keyboard shortcut) and move it normally: 1st click to set the base point, 2nd click to set the destination.
You only need to click on the cross symbol if you want to drag the text and drop it onto a new location.
You would have noticed that if you click once to select the text box and then click again it activates the text box for editing and does not allow for dragging. Rather that selecting multiple elements and then deselcting the rest, just click once on the text box and drag it with the same click. This will not activate the text box and will still allow the text to align with other text elements in that view. If your text has a leader you can also click on the leader after selecting the text to drag it around.
@ToanDNthe MV function works well for most things but it doesn't allow the text box to align with other texts in the view like a click-drag does.
Just to add to @Lachlan-JWP suggestion: you can click a text box, do not release the mouse button, and you can drag the text. To be able to do that, you need to enable Drag elements on selection.
