I just finished drawing an as built structure in preparation for a large remodel project. This will be my first project using the phasing tools. Before I begin drawing the new construction, i am going to re-phase the as built into the "existing" phase" . The first thing I touched was the roof, when i changed the phase from new construction to existing, the material changed from asphalt shingle to stone... What's up with that? I can open the material editor for the roof, and it shows as roofing shingles, but the graphic when I view 3d is stone... I'll post the screencast when it's ready...
Unreal... phasing the building has turned the whole thing into one big rock.

here's the screen cast...
Thank you for your response... Are you saying this is normal? I just did what you said, and you are correct, (not that I doubted)... the materials show correctly.. but it's still wierd.. Im left wondering why the program would be designed to show it that way... what's the benefit?
You need to set up your phase filters and graphic overrides and apply said filter to your view. Looks like the existing material is probably that stone material.
got it... so I can change what that preset is... thank you... I can see where it's helpful for the material to change as i phase things... helps you to see your progress... it was just weird to see all that stone. I actually used phasing on my first projects last week, but it was a much smaller remodel, and this didnt happen.. I guess that's why I was confused...
