Phase filter not working properly (maybe?)

I have created a new phase filter in my arch model called Show Demo + ICRA. The settings are NEW = Not Shown, EXISTING/DEMOLISHED/TEMPORARY = Overridden.

When I select this filter on my plan, the electrical outlets from a linked in MEP model show up. They are new.

As a test, when I use the standard Revit Show Previous + Demo they go away.

What am I missing?

Post screenshots of your Phase Filters and Phase Graphic Overrides.

Ok, not sure what additional information you'll get.

One more to show it's working with the other filter.

Is the link instance set to use the same phase filter as the model or by custom or by linked view?

No, it is set to "by host view"

Does it have anything to do with the fact that the phase filter is only in the Arch model? The MEP model does not have the same phase filter created.

I wouldn't think so. But check the phase mapping of the link and set the phase filter of the link instance to Custom then select that filter.

This is odd, the phase filter is set to none when I look at the link. When I change it in the host model it changes to the selected one. So it seems if I create the same phase filter in the linked model it should show up in the hos as well.

Yes I see you need to do that.

It worked. As long as the Phase filter is EXACTLY the same name it will map automatically. If the name varies at all it will show a NONE for the filter.

Huh? Did you Map the Linked Phases?

I don't understand what you found.  If your Link has a Phase named "Gobbledygook" mapped to the Host's "Existed" Phase, then "Gobbledygook" responds to "Existing" Phase Filters in the Host.

If you create a Phase Filter in a model, let's say the Arch model, called Show A + B and you want that Phase Filter to control the visibility of elements in a linked model, then that linked model also has to have a Phase Filter called Show A + B. It cannot be called Show B + A or Show A & B. If it is the same name it will map automatically. If the name is different it will not map anything. I don't know of a way to manually map Phase Filters.

This is not correct. I had Existing and New Construction phases in both models. They were mapped. However, when I added a new phase filter in the host model that phase filter did not control the visibility of the linked model. Only once I had created the same Phase Filter in the linked model and reloaded the link did the new phase filter control the linked model elements.

Wish I found that earlier. I didn't even know to look for it. Thanks!
