Phase filter: Color

Hi all,

I would like to prepare a filter per each phase of my project and assign a color to it (e.g. Phase 1 - Red, Phase 2 - Blue...)

Any idea?

Consider using the phasing tools.

I'm guessing you want to show different phases in one view?

it can work as long as the shared parameter you use for Phasing is assigned to all the categories you want to display in their respective phase.

Desk = Phase 1 = red

Desk = Phase 2 = blue etc.

this method works in all views with those filters active in the views regardless of the phase mapping

it is an override filter

Create a working view and Set the view to a phase and phase status to new, select everything and save a selection set. Repeat for every phase. Open the presentation view, add the selection filters and change color for each.

Exactly but differenziate them by color.

Phase filter is not working properly because it can be filtered just the previus phase.

I cannot create a Filter per elements related to a phase (Phase parameter does not appear in drop down menu)

If I create a Shared parameter e.g. XX_Phase. It will appear in drop down menu in Filtering option?

It is a good idea but It is not "Parametric."
It means that each time I model a new element with related phase I must change the filter selection.
Not handy

You can follow above directions by Toan^^^, that's your best option to filter by selection set.

Alternatively you could overlay different views on a sheet, however that doesn't work quite as well.  Phase filter is also requested on ideas forum in multiple topics, you could find these topics and vote for it.:)

you can use the default parameter (comments) set the trigger to define the phase in comments

Phase 1 = Red

Phase 2 =Blue etc.

I chose to make a shared Parameter(s) and assign that to all my phasing needs when I am dealing with more complex models and the regular Phase mapping wont accomplish what I need
