Performance monitor?

Is there a way to monitor a computer's performance and memory usage specific to Revit? Like the equivalent of frames per second possibly? For that matter, what is typically the biggest bottleneck on a PC? I've been watching the Task Manager performance but I can't see an obvious problem. Thanks.

Have you tried Process Monitor? This will show all activity, once installed, launch the application. You will see multiple Revit.exe processes which you can right-click and choose Include Revit.exe to isolate Revit.

It's ok, if you have a powerful computer, and revit works slowly.

Revit has very poor optimization and multithreading support. Cat Very Happy

Yea, unfortunately were not using supercomputers or anything, so the problem is compounded. I did try the application mentioned above, but for whatever reason Revit.exe wasn't available, I'll revisit that.

Anyway, after thinking about it, what would be ideal would be something equivalent to frames-per-second, of monitor refresh rate. Because that's what really matters to people, that's where they notice a slowdown. It really doesn't matter how much memory is being used. It matters how individual computers perform.
